A WHOLE NEW WORLD

As 2020 draws to a close, it would be remiss of me not to sign off with a final post sharing words from one of my favourite musicals.

My bravery in sharing that I was listening to the music from Aladdin is probably the first Small Act I would like you to adopt.

Bravery – the ability to be who you are and bring your magic to the universe in your unique way.

And now for some of the words that I hope will inspire a positive entry into 2021

A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us, "No"
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming
A whole new world

While much has been written about the trials and tribulations of 2020, please dig deep to put in place one or all of the following three Small Acts that are sure to have a Major Impact on your business and home lives.

1.Breathe. We take approximately 25,000 breaths a day. Focus on 20 of them. Find a great breathing technique that will calm your parasympathetic nervous system and reduce stress. One method used by Navy Seals is called the 4,4,4,4, Technique. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4, out for 4, and hold for 4. Repeat this exercise three-times.

2.Eight-minute rule. Own the first eight minutes of your day. Don't put someone else in the driver's seat of your day. Not the news, Twitter, emails, or Instagram. Wake up, breathe, meditate, walk or sit. Enter your day with the calmness it deserves.  All will be there when you turn your phone on. There's no rush. Owning your first eight minutes will help set a positive tone for the rest of your day.

3.Lemon Water. Drink a glass of warm water with lemon before eating breakfast. In addition to hydrating your body first thing in the morning, the lemon aids in removing toxins from your digestive system that may have built up overnight.
